Brookline ist eine Town im Norfolk County in Massachusetts. Sie grenzt an Newton im Südwesten und an Boston.

Die erste Besiedlung im heutigen Stadtgebiet fand Anfang des 17. Jahrhunderts statt. Im Jahre 1705 wurde Brookline zur Stadt erklärt und hat es seither verstanden, seine Selbstständigkeit gegenüber der Großstadt Boston zu behaupten, die Brookline fast vollständig umschließt. Brookline ist der Geburtsort von John F. Kennedy.
