Photoshop Document

Photoshop Document (PSD) ist eines der proprietären Dateiformate von Adobe Photoshop. Andere wichtige Dateiformate sind PSB (Photoshop Big) für große Dateien und auch PDF (Mac) bzw. PDP (Windows), die vor allem zum Austausch mit InDesign Verwendung finden.

Sämtliche verwendete Bilddaten werden bei PSD und PSB verlustfrei gespeichert, ebenso wie Informationen über die verschiedenen Ebenen, Smart Objects, Kanäle und Vektoren und Einstellungen des Projektes. Die Dateien sind im Vergleich zu anderen Formaten auch dementsprechend groß. Auch andere Programme können diese Datei anzeigen, zum Beispiel IrfanView, ACDSee, Paint Shop Pro, GIMP, PhotoLine, GraphicConverter, FastStone Image Viewer und andere.
