Visual Localize

Visual Localize ist ein spezialisiertes Werkzeug zur Lokalisierung von Software und Anpassung der grafischen Benutzeroberfläche (GUI).

Visual Localize ist kein maschinelles Übersetzungswerkzeug, sondern ein CAT-Tool (Computerunterstützte Übersetzung engl. Computer-Assisted Translation, abgekürzt CAT). Das Tool ist in der Lage, alle in der Software enthaltenen Texte z. B. auf Dialogen, Menüs und in der String Table für den Übersetzer sichtbar zu machen. Bei der Übersetzung werden diese Texte zur Erhöhung der terminologischen Qualität im Kontext der laufenden Anwendung angezeigt; d. h. die zu übersetzenden Texte werden in einer Vorschau bzw. Editor so angezeigt, wie sie später zur Laufzeit eingesetzt werden. Unter Verwendung von Visual Localize können Übersetzer ohne tiefgreifende Programmierkenntnisse und ohne Quellcode Softwareanwendungen (bestehend aus verschiedenen Datei-Modulen z. B. EXE, DLL, RESX, RESOURCES, RC OCX, XML, CHM, INI, …) in die gewünschten Landessprachen übersetzen.
