The Light ist das Debütalbum der Progressive-Rock-Band Spock's Beard. Es erschien im Jahre 1995.

Es enthält vier Songs, welche wie es oft im Progressive Rock vorkommt, relativ lang sind (zwischen 6 und 24 Minuten). Dabei bestehen die Lieder „The Light“ und „The Water“, aus mehreren Teilen. Hierdurch und auch durch den Stil der Band fühlt man sich teilweise an Progressive-Rock-Klassiker wie beispielsweise „Supper's Ready“ von Genesis erinnert, wenngleich sich die Musik von ihren Vorbildern in anderen Teilen auch abhebt und in Richtung eines eigenen Stils weist, der auf den Nachfolgeralben immer ausgeprägter wird.
