Moscow Mule

Der Moscow Mule gehört zu der Klasse der Highball-Cocktails auf Spirituosenbasis mit größerem Anteil an nicht-alkoholischen Zutaten. Traditionell wird der Moscow Mule in einer Kupfertasse on the rocks serviert. Der Moscow Mule wurde 1941 von John G. Martin[1] erfunden und war in den frühen 50er-Jahren für die Popularität von Wodka in den USA verantwortlich.

Grundrezept

  • 1–3 Teile Wodka (je nach Geschmack)
  • 3 Teile Ginger Beer
  • 1 Teil Limettensaft (frisch)

Eine verbreitete Ergänzung ist die Zugabe von ein paar Spritzern Angosturabitter. Weil Ginger Beer nicht überall erhältlich ist, wird es mitunter durch Ginger Ale ersetzt.

  • Three Legged Mule, mit Jameson Whiskey
  • Manuka Mule, mit Manuka Honig Wodka
  • Munich Mule – mit frischer Gurke statt Limetten
  • Schwarzach – mit Russian Standard Wodka, Ginger Ale und frischen Gurken
  • Schwarzach on Ice – mit Russian Standard Wodka, Ginger Ale, frischer Gurke und zerstoßenem Eis (crushed ice)
