Mike Kelley

Mike Kelley (* 27. Oktober 1954 in Detroit, Michigan) ist ein US-amerikanischer Installationskünstler.

Leben und Werk

Kelley beschäftigt sich in seinen Performances, Installationen, Zeichnungen und Texten mit "Weltanschauungssystemen" und den psychischen Abhängigkeiten der darin gefangenen Menschen.

1976 machte er seinen Abschluss als Bachelor of Fine Arts an der University of Michigan, Ann Arbor und 1978 den Master of Fine Arts an der California Institute of the Arts, Valencia, CA. 1977 gründete er mit Tony Oursler die Punk-Band Poetic, die bis 1983 existierte. Kelley lebt und arbeitet in Los Angeles.
