Michel Albert

Michel Albert (* 25. Februar 1930 in Fontenay-le-Comte, Frankreich) ist ein französischer Ökonom.

Leben

Von 1982 bis 1994 war er Präsident der französischen Versicherungsgesellschaft Assurances Générales de France[1], zuvor war er für Finanzplanungsaufgaben in der Regierung tätig. Von 1994 bis 2003 war er Mitglied des geldpolitischen Rates der französischen Nationalbank. Im wissenschaftlichen Bereich ist er ständiges Mitglied der Académie des sciences morales et politiques („Akademie der Moralischen und Politischen Wissenschaften“) des Institut de France. Michel Albert ist seit den 1960er Jahren im politischen Bereich publizistisch tätig.

Albert wurde vor allem durch seine publizistische Tätigkeit bekannt. Er verfasste unter anderem das Werk Kapitalismus contra Kapitalismus, in dem er den Begriff „Rheinischer Kapitalismus“ prägte.[1]

Er ist Mitglied der Päpstlichen Stiftung Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice (CAPP).
