Martha M. Place

Martha M. Place (* um 1855 in New Jersey; † 8. April 1899 in Sing Sing) war eine US-amerikanische Mörderin. Place war die erste Frau, die auf dem elektrischen Stuhl starb.

Martha Place wurde beschuldigt, am 7. Februar 1899 ihre Stieftochter Ida ermordet zu haben. Am 20. März 1899 wurde sie des Mordes für schuldig befunden und zum Tode verurteilt. Das Todesurteil wurde, nachdem der damalige Gouverneur des Staates New York Theodore Roosevelt ein Gnadengesuch abgelehnt hatte, am 8. April 1899 im Gefängnis von Sing Sing vollstreckt.
