Marion Mack

Marion Mack (Geburtsname: Joey Marion McCreery, * 8. April 1902; † 1. Mai 1989) war eine US-amerikanische Filmschauspielerin, Drehbuchautorin und Produzentin. Als weibliche Hauptdarstellerin in Buster Keatons The General wurde sie weltweit bekannt.

Marion Mack begann ihre berufliche Laufbahn als eine von Mack Sennetts „Bathing Beauties“. Bald wirkte sie prominent in Kurzfilmen mit, sowohl vor wie auch hinter der Kamera: Für Mary of the Movies (1923), in dem sie die Hauptrolle spielte, schrieb sie am Drehbuch mit. Nachdem sie 1927 in Alice in Movieland zuletzt als Schauspielerin tätig war, verlegte sie sich ganz auf die Arbeit hinter der Kamera.

Als Drehbuchautorin und Filmproduzentin war sie gemeinsam mit ihrem Mann, Lewis Lewyn, bis zu dessen Tod im Jahr 1969 tätig. Das Paar hatte 1924 geheiratet. Als in den 1960er Jahren Keatons The General bei Wiederaufführungen als Meisterwerk gefeiert wurde, brachte das auch Marion Mack neue Aufmerksamkeit.
