Das Mare Crisium (Lat. „Meer der Gefahren“) ist ein Mondmeer des Erdmondes im Crisium-Basin, nordöstlich des Mare Tranquillitatis.

Das Meer befindet sich auf den selenographischen Koordinaten 17° 00' N; 59° 06' E und hat einen mittleren Durchmesser von 418 km.

Im Mare Crisium befinden sich zwei künstliche Objekte. Zum einen die sowjetische Sonde Luna 15, die noch vor den Astronauten von Apollo 11 Mondgestein zur Erde bringen sollte, jedoch am 21. Juli 1969 hart aufschlug. Zum anderen Luna 24, die letzte Sonde des Luna-Programms, die am 18. August 1976 landete und 170 g Mondgestein zur Erde brachte.

  • "KAFF auch Mare Crisium" heißt ein teilweise dort (als Utopie) spielender Roman Arno Schmidts von 1960.
  • Das Mare Crisium ist Ort der Handlung in der Kurzgeschichte The Sentinel von Arthur C. Clarke aus dem Jahre 1951. The Sentinel ist eine der Vorlagen für Clarkes Roman 2001: Odyssee im Weltraum.
