Marcus Birkenkrahe

Marcus Birkenkrahe (* 29. Dezember 1963 als Marcus Speh in Bad Kreuznach) ist ein deutscher Physiker und Wirtschaftsinformatiker, der auch als Executive Coach tätig ist. Er war Anfang der 90er Jahre u.a. an der Entwicklung des World-Wide Web (WWW) beteiligt. Er ist Beauftragter des Rektors der Fachhochschule für Wirtschaft Berlin (FHW) für E-Learning, Fellow der Royal Society of Arts in London und Mitherausgeber der Zeitschriften International Journal of Learning and Change [1] und International Journal of Innovation in Education [2].

Leben und Arbeit

Nach dem Abitur an der Gelehrtenschule des Johanneums 1983, studierte Birkenkrahe Physik, Mathematik und Chemie an der Universität Hamburg. 1994 arbeitete Birkenkrahe als Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter bei DESY in Zeuthen und promovierte zum Dr. rer. nat mit einer Arbeit über objektorientiertes, literarisches Design von Mehrgitter-Algorithmen für die Simulation von Gittereichtheorien in der theoretischen Elementarteilchenphysik. Als Mitbegründer und Vorsitzender der Globewide Network Academy (GNA) [3] nahm er auf der World-Wide Web Konferenz 1994 [4] in Genf Auszeichnungen für „Best Campus-Wide Information System“ und „Best Educational Site“ entgegen. Von 1995 bis 2001 arbeitete er für Accenture und Royal Dutch Shell. 2002 hatte der Physiker eine Gastprofessur für Wissensmanagement an der University of Auckland, Business School inne. Seit 2007 ist Birkenkrahe Professor für Betriebliche Informationssysteme an der FH für Wirtschaft Berlin.
