University of London) ist eine der ältesten Universitäten des Vereinigten Königreichs und eine der größten weltweit. Die Universität ist föderal organisiert und besteht zur Zeit aus 19 unabhängigen Colleges und 12 Instituten. Insgesamt studieren über 170.000 (interne und externe) Studenten an der Universität London. Anne Mountbatten-Windsor, Princess Royal ist die Kanzlerin der Universität, Sir Graeme Davies der Vize-Kanzler.
Die Universität ist hauptsächlich im Londoner Stadtteil Bloomsbury angesiedelt. Die nächste U-Bahn-Station ist Russell Square. Die einzelnen Colleges sind über das Stadtgebiet verteilt.

Dem föderalen Charakter der Universität London ist immanent, dass sich der Bestand der beteiligten Colleges und Institute ändert. Trotzdem hat jüngst der Austritt des Imperial College zu dessen 100-jährigem Gründungsjubiläum für Aufsehen gesorgt. Das College war eines der angesehensten innerhalb der Universität London. Nach dem Austritt des Imperial Colleges sind weiterhin 19 unabhängige Colleges und 12 Institute Teil der Universität.

Senate House, Entwurf Charles HoldenDie Universität London wurde 1836 durch königliche Anordnung gegründet, zwei Institute haben jedoch frühmittelalterliche Wurzeln. Die ersten Colleges waren das King's College und das University College. Das 1932 bis 1937 errichtete Senate House beherbergte während des Zweiten Weltkrieges, als die Universität aus London evakuiert worden war, das Ministry of Information.
