Lila Wallace (eigentlich Lila Bell Acheson, * 25. Dezember 1889 in Virden, Kanada; † 8. Mai 1984 in Mount Kisco, New York) war eine US-amerikanische Verlegerin.

Leben

Lila Bell Acheson entstammte aus einer presbyterianischen Familie und studierte an der University of Oregon, die sie im Jahr 1917 mit Erfolg abschloss. Sie lehrte an Schulen und arbeitete nebenher bei der Young Women's Christian Association. Am 15. Oktober 1921 heiratete sie in Greenwich Village DeWitt Wallace und gründete mit ihm ein Jahr später die Zeitung Reader’s Digest, deren erste Ausgabe am 5. Februar 1922 erschien. Lila Wallace starb an den Folgen der Alzheimer-Krankheit.
