Lennox "Boogsie" Sharpe (* 28. Oktober 1953 in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad) ist ein erfolgreicher Komponist, Arrangeur und Musiker auf der Steel Pan.

Leben

Lennox Sharpe wuchs in Woodbrook, einem Stadtteil von Port-of-Spain auf. Er spielte im Invaders Steel Orchestra, später in der Steelband Starlift. 1972 gründete er die Steelband Phase II Pan Groove, welche als eine der besten Steelbands Trinidads gilt.

1987 wurde ihm die Hummingbird Medal (silver) verliehen. Er erhielt überdies den Ehrendoktortitel der University of the West Indies. Außerdem ist Sharpe seit dem Jahr 2000 offizieller Kulturbotschafter der Republik Trinidad und Tobago.[1]
