John Grigg

John Grigg (* 4. Juni 1838 in London; † 20. Juni 1920 in Thames (Neuseeland)) war ein britischer Amateur-Astronom.

Er war ausgebildeter Musiklehrer. 1863 wanderte er nach Neuseeland aus. Am 23. Juli 1902 entdeckte er den Kometen, der später den offiziellen Namen 26P/Grigg-Skjellerup erhielt. Ein Jahr später entdeckte er einen weiteren Kometen und am 8. April 1907 seinen letzten Kometen (Grigg-Mellish).

Für seine Entdeckungen wurde er später mit der Donohoe Medaille ausgezeichnet.
