Die Internationale Finanz-Corporation (engl. International Finance Corporation – IFC) ist eine Gesellschaft der Weltbankgruppe mit Sitz in Washington (D.C.).
Die 1956 gegründete IFC hat die Aufgabe, zur Verringerung der Armut in den weniger entwickelten Ländern beizutragen, indem sie das Wachstum des privaten Sektors fördert und bei der Mobilisierung von Inlands- und Auslandskapital Hilfe gewährt. Zu diesem Zweck übernimmt sie ohne Garantien des jeweiligen Landes Beteiligungen an privaten Unternehmen beziehungsweise gewährt diesen Kredite. Sie übernimmt dabei eine wichtige Katalysatorrolle für weitere private Investitionen in Entwicklungsländern. Die IFC ist bestrebt, die Aktivitäten in den ärmeren Entwicklungsregionen auszuweiten.
Im Geschäftsjahr 2003 förderte die IFC 186 Investitionsprojekte im Gesamtwert von 5,4 Mrd. US$ durch eigene Darlehen und Beteiligungen im Wert von 4 Mrd. US$. In Ergänzung zur Förderung und Beteiligung an Privatinvestitionen ist die IFC auch im Bereich der Beratung und der technischen Hilfe tätig. Sie konzentriert sich dabei überwiegend auf Fragen der Privatisierung und Umstrukturierung von Unternehmen, der Entwicklung von Kapitalmärkten sowie der Strukturierung von komplizierten und risikoreichen Investitionen.
Mit der Aufnahme Montenegros im Jahr 2007 sind 179 Länder Mitglied der IFC. Gemäß der Satzung können nur solche Länder eine Mitgliedschaft beantragen, welche bereits Mitglied der Weltbank sind. Deutschland ist Gründungsmitglied, mit einem Kapitalanteil von ca. 2,36 Mrd. US$ der gegenwärtig etwa 5,5 % beträgt (Stimmrechtsanteil 5,37 %).
Verwaltet wird die IFC ähnlich wie die Weltbank durch einen Gouverneursrat und einem Direktorium. Der Gouverneursrat und das Direktorium umfasst die Gouverneure und Direktoren der Weltbank, deren Staaten Mitglied im IFC sind. Der Vorsitzende des Direktoriums ist der Präsident der Weltbank. Für die laufende Geschäftstätigkeit der IFC wird ein eigener Vorsitzender, der Executive Vice President, ernannt.
