Igbo-Ukwu ist eine Stadt im Bundesstaat Anambra von Nigeria mit 77.313 Einwohnern[1]. Der Name stammt aus der Ibo-Sprache und bedeutet "Groß-Ibo".

Igbo-Ukwu ist ein archäologischer Fundplatz[2] mit Funden aus dem 9. Jahrhundert[3]. Es handelt sich um ein Grab einer offenbar hochgestellten Persönlichkeit wie die reichen Beigaben vermuten lassen. Bis heute ist nichts über die Zusammenhänge bekannt.
