Alliance Airlines ist eine australische Charterfluggesellschaft mit Sitz in Brisbane und ein Tochterunternehmen der Queensland Airline Holdings.

Geschichte

Die Gründung und der Flugbetrieb von Alliance Airlines erfolgte im August 2002. Queensland Airline Holding erwarb den Nachlass der nicht mehr aktiven Flight West Airlines, die 1987 gegründet und 2001 liquidiert wurde. Alliance besaß einen Wetleasing-Vertrag mit Norfolk Jet Express, bis diese am 4. Juni 2005 liquidiert wurde. Alliance führte den Flugbetrieb eine Woche lang weiter, dann übernahm Qantas den Flugbetrieb mit einer Maschine von Air Nauru.

Flugziele

Alliance Airlines ist auf Langzeit-Charterverträge für die Bergbauindustrie und den Regierungen von australischen Bundesstaaten sowie das Militär und auf Ad-hoc-Charterflüge und Flugzeugleasing spezialisiert. Beispielsweise fliegt von Townsville zu den Minenstandorten Phosphate Hill, Century Mine, Gove, Cloncurry, Cannington Mine und Mt. Isa. Von Brisbane fliegt Alliance nach Gove, Telfer und Ballera. Charterflüge gibt es ebenfalls von Brisbane nach Canberra und die Australian Defence Force nutzt Alliance für Charterflüge nach Osttimor und zu den Salomonen.

Mit Stand Oktober 2011 besteht die Flotte der Alliance Airlines aus 25 Flugzeugen[1] und einem Durchschnittsalter von 19,4 Jahren[2]:
