Grafton ist eine Stadt im Nordosten des australischen Bundesstaats New South Wales und liegt etwa 350 km von Brisbane entfernt an der Küstenstraße Highway 1. Sie liegt zu beiden Seiten des Clarence River knapp über Meereshöhe.

Grafton wurde 1851 gegründet und hat 17.501 Einwohner. Grafton erlangte seine Bedeutung als Durchgangsstation für den Handel zwischen den Metropolen Brisbane und Sydney und lebt vor allem von Ackerbau und Viehzucht. Dem Handelsverkehr verdankt die Stadt auch ihr bekanntestes Bauwerk. Die Grafton Bridge, die 1932 fertiggestellt wurde, überspannt den Clarence River auf zwei Stockwerken, eines für den Autoverkehr und eines für die North-Coast-Eisenbahnlinie, und war ursprünglich sogar eine Klappbrücke.

Die Stadt wird auch Jacaranda City genannt wegen der von Jacaranda-Bäumen gesäumten Straßen der Stadt und dem danach benannten Jacaranda Festival.

Grafton ist Verwaltungssitz des lokalen Verwaltungsgebiets Clarence Valley Council.
