Der Musculus gracilis (lat.: schlanker Muskel) ist ein oberflächennaher Skelettmuskel des Oberschenkels und zählt zu seinen Adduktoren.

Funktion

Der Wirkungsbereich des Musculus gracilis erstreckt sich über zwei Gelenke: das Hüftgelenk und das Kniegelenk. Im Hüftgelenk beugt er den Oberschenkel und zieht ihn zur Körpermitte (Adduktion), im Kniegelenk beugt er den Unterschenkel und dreht ihn nach innen (medial).

Seine Antagonisten sind die Gesäßmuskeln und der M. tensor fasciae latae.

Bei den vierfüßigen Säugetieren ist er vornehmlich ein Adduktor, partiell wirkt er auch als Strecker des Kniegelenks. Bei Schlachttieren ist der Muskel Teil der Oberschale.
