Luca Ghini

Luca Ghini (* 1490 in Imola; † 4. Mai 1566) war Arzt und Botaniker. Sein offizielles botanisches Autorenkürzel lautet „Ghini“.

Leben und Wirken

Ghini studierte Medizin an der Universität Bologna. 1544 stellte er sein erstes Herbar zusammen und wurde im gleichen Jahr zum Leiter des Botanischen Gartens in Pisa berufen.
