Alberto Vargas

Alberto Vargas (* 9. Februar 1896 in Arequipa, Peru; † 30. Dezember 1982 in Los Angeles) ist berühmt für seine Pin-Up-Zeichnungen geworden.

Ab 1940 zeichnete er als Ablösung von George Petty für Esquire Pin-Ups. Esquire setzte durch, dass das „s“ bei Vargas weggelassen werden musste. So haben sich die Varga-Girls später durchgesetzt. Als Alberto Vargas Esquire dann später verließ, wurde es ihm untersagt, den Namen Varga für zukünftige Zeichnungen zu verwenden.
