Dieser Artikel handelt von einer britischen Musikgruppe. Der Begriff Flying Pickets bezeichnet auch mobile Streikposten.

Die Flying Pickets sind eine britische A-cappella-Formation, die in wechselnder Besetzung seit 1982 besteht. Mitglieder einer Theaterformation hatten Spaß daran, auf den Reisen zu neuen Spielorten bekannte Lieder a cappella zu singen. So entstand die Idee, sich nach den mobilen Streikposten der englischen Bergarbeiter zu benennen und öffentlich aufzutreten.

Im Jahr 1984 konnten die Flying Pickets mit einer Cover-Version der Single Only You (im Original von Yazoo) einen Nummer-1-Hit in Deutschland landen. Bereits im November 1983 erreichte das Stück den 1. Platz der Single-Charts in Großbritannien.

Traditionell haben die Flying Pickets fünf Mitglieder, zeitweise waren es sechs. Von der ursprünglichen Besetzung, zu der David Brett, Ken Gregson, Rick Lloyd, Red Stripe und Gareth Williams gehörten, ist kein Mitglied mehr dabei. Das Repertoire der Flying Pickets umfasst überwiegend Cover-Versionen und vereinzelt eigene Kompositionen.
