Flyball ist eine Hundesportart, welche ca. 1990 von Amerika nach England und dann weiter nach Mitteleuropa gekommen ist. Flyball besteht aus vier Hürden, welche in einer Reihe aufgestellt sind, und einer Flyballmaschine. Der Hund versucht beim Flyball möglichst schnell über die vier Hürden zur Flyballmaschine zu gelangen, den Auslösetaster der Flyballmaschine zu betätigen, den Ball zu fangen und möglichst schnell mit dem Ball über die vier Hürden zurück ins Ziel zu kommen.

4 Teams (Hunde+Hundeführer) sind eine Mannschaft, zwei Mannschaften spielen gegeneinander, das macht den Reiz dieser rasanten Sportart aus. Auf Grund der Schnelligkeit dieses Wettbewerbs ist diese Sportart ideal für Zuschauer.

Deutsche Flyballmeisterschaft 2008

Die erste deutsche Meisterschaft in dieser Sportart fand am 20. und 21. September 2008 in Hungen statt. 33 Mannschaften aus ganz Deutschland traten dabei in 6 Divisionen an. Den Titel holte sich das Team "16 Paws of Power" aus Hungen und brach auch den deutschen Rekord[1] mit einer Zeit von 17,59 Sekunden.[2][3]
