Als Alabastron (Plural Alabastra) bezeichnet man in der Archäologie ein birnenförmiges oder schlankes Gefäß von zylindrischer Form und mit abgerundetem Boden.

Alabastra wurde zur Aufbewahrung von Duftstoffen, aromatischen Flüssigkeiten verwendet und wurde hauptsächlich von Frauen verwendet. Männer verwendeten als Salbgefäß den Aryballos.

Als Vorbild für die Form des Fläschchens dienten Gefäße aus dem Orient und aus Ägypten die dort oft aus Alabaster gefertigt wurden.

Alabastra wurden beispielsweise in den Nekropolen von Knossos und Phaistos auf Kreta gefunden; sie stammen aus der Zeit um 1900 bis 1300 v. Chr. und sind im Palast-Stil mit Vogel-, Fisch- und Oktopusdarstellungen verziert.
