Fair Company

Fair Company ist eine Initiative des Job- und Wirtschaftsmagazins Karriere. Das Magazin vergibt das Gütesiegel "Fair Company" an Unternehmen, die sich gegen die Ausbeutung der so genannten Generation Praktikum aussprechen und auch danach handeln. Die Initiative wurde im Oktober 2004 von dem damaligen Chefredakteur Jörn Hüsgen zusammen mit 30 Mitgliedsunternehmen gegründet. Stand November 2008 liegt die Zahl der Mitglieder nach Angaben von "Karriere" bei über 1000.

Kriterien

Dazu müssen die Firmen fünf Kriterien erfüllen, zu deren Einhaltung sie sich schriftlich verpflichten:

  • substituieren keine Vollzeitstellen durch Praktikanten, vermeintliche Volontäre, Hospitanten o.ä.
  • vertrösten keinen Hochschulabsolventen mit einem Praktikum, der sich auf eine feste Stelle beworben hat,
  • ködern keinen Praktikanten mit der vagen Aussicht auf eine anschließende Vollzeitstelle,
  • bieten Praktika vornehmlich zur beruflichen Orientierung während der Ausbildungsphase,
  • zahlen Praktikanten eine adäquate Aufwandsentschädigung.

Teilnehmende Unternehmen

Zum Start der Initiative waren es 30 Unternehmen, die das Gütesiegel erhalten haben, Stand November 2008 sind es bereits über 1000. Die Unternehmen kommen aus allen Branchen und reichen von einer kleinen Apotheke bis zu Konzernen wie Aldi, Lidl, Coca Cola, BMW, Ikea, Vodafone, Ecolab oder WestLB. Die komplette und stets aktualisierte Liste aller Unternehmen plus Kontaktadressen sind ebenfalls auf der Online-Seite von KARRIERE einsehbar.

Kontrolle

Die Einhaltung der Kriterien wird von der Redaktion ständig überprüft. Allen Absolventen, Praktikanten etc. wird auf der Internetseite des Magazins die Möglichkeit gegeben, Verstöße von Unternehmen zu melden. Diesen wird dann nachgegangen. Bei zwei nachweisbaren Verstößen erfolgt nach Angaben des Magazins der Ausschluss aus der Initiative.

Veröffentlichungen

Einmal jährlich gibt das Magazin KARRIERE einen "FairCompany Guide" heraus, in dem bis zum jeweiligen Drucklegungsstichtag alle Fair Companies mit vollständigen Adressen und Ansprechpartnern sowie Infos über Praktikumsvergütung etc aufgelistet sind. Eine Liste der Unternehmen findet sich auch auf der Online-Seite von KARRIERE.
