European Bureau for Lesser Used Languages

Das Europäische Büro für Sprachminderheiten (European Bureau for Lesser-Used Languages – EBLUL) ist eine nichtstaatliche Organisation, die sich für Minderheiten- und Regionalsprachen in Europa einsetzt. Aktuell ist der Sitz der Organisation in Dublin in Irland. Präsidentin ist zurzeit die Irin Neasa Ní Chinnéide. Gegründet wurde das EBLUL im Jahr 1982. Nach Angaben des EBLUL werden weniger gebräuchliche Sprachen von 46 Millionen Europäern gesprochen.

Vorsitzender des deutschen EBLUL-Ablegers ist der Saterfriese Karl-Peter Schramm. Die Ostfriesin Cornelia Nath sitzt zudem im Vorstand des EBLUL. Die in Deutschland betroffenen Sprachen sind das Dänische, das Nord- und Saterfriesische, das Obersorbische, das Niedersorbische, das Romanes sowie Niederdeutsch.
