Emporis

Die Emporis GmbH ist ein 1996 gegründetes Informations-Dienstleistungsunternehmen für die internationale Immobilienwirtschaft. Es hat seinen Hauptsitz in Hamburg sowie seit 2007 eine Tochtergesellschaft (Emporis Corporation) in New York City, in den USA. Geschäftsführer sind Daniel Grözinger und Sven Schmidt. Zu den Gründern gehört unter anderen Marshall Gerometta.

Emporis stellt Informationen für Forschung, Analyse und Bewertung von Informationen über Gebäude bereit. Wichtigstes Produkt ist die Datenbank Emporis Research, die nach Angaben des Herausgebers gebäudebezogene Informationen aus mehr als 154.000 Städten weltweit enthält und damit die weltweit umfangreichste öffentliche Quelle für Gebäude-Informationen ist. Der volle Funktionsumfang ist nur für registrierte Kunden zugänglich.

Der Gründer von Emporis, Michael Wutzke, hat das Unternehmen zum September 2010 auf eigenen Wunsch hin verlassen.

Architekturpreis

Emporis vergibt jedes Jahr den Architekturpreis Emporis Skyscraper Award an das hinsichtlich Design und Funktionalität beste neue Hochhaus. Nominiert werden nur Gebäude, die entweder über 100 Meter hoch sind oder 30 Etagen und mehr aufweisen.
