Verleihungen

Der Titel eines Earl of Strathmore wurde 1606 an Patrick Lyon, 9. Lord Glamis, verleihen. Der dritte Earl änderte 1677 den Titel in Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne.

Die zweite Verleihung erfolgte dann 1937 in der Peerage of the United Kingdom an Claude Bowes-Lyon, 14. Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne, den Vater von Königin Elisabeth, der Königinmutter und Großvater der jetzigen Königin Elisabeth II.

Nachgeordnete Titel

Der Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne führt die nachgeordneten Titel Viscount Lyon (geschaffen 1677), Lord Glamis, Tannadyce, Sidlaw and Strathditchie (geschaffen 1677), Lord Glamis (geschaffen 1445) und Baron Bowes (geschaffen 1887).

Weiterer Titel
