Dream Academy

The Dream Academy war eine brit. Folkrockband, die vor allem in den 1980er Jahren erfolgreich war. Neben dem Sänger und Gitarristen Nick Laird-Clowes gehörten Kate St. John (Oboe und weitere Instrumente) and Gilbert Gabriel (Keyboard) der Band an. Ihre erfolgreichste Single war Life in a Northern Town, die in Großbritannien Platz 15 und in den USA-Billboard-Charts Platz 7 erreichte. Das Album The Dream Academy, das u. a. von David Gilmour produziert wurde, erreichte in den USA Platz 20. 1991 löste sich die Formation auf. 2000 wurde ein Best-of-Album veröffentlicht.
