DotCom

Als Dotcom werden Unternehmen bezeichnet, die insbesondere im Zusammenhang mit dem Internet Dienstleistungen anbieten. Der Begriff leitet sich aus den auf „.com“ endenden Internet-Adressen ab (engl. „dot“ = Punkt). Er wurde zuerst durch den Börsenjargon geprägt und später von den Medien übernommen.
