Devolution (lat. devolvere, ‚herabrollen‘) steht für:

  • den Übergang eines Herrschertitels oder eines erblichen Adelstitels an einen Nachfolger, siehe Thronfolge
  • die Übertragung administrativer Funktionen vom Souverän an Gebietskörperschaften, siehe Devolution (Staatsrechtslehre)
  • den Übergang eines Verfahrens an eine höhere Gerichtsinstanz durch Einlegen eines Rechtsmittels, siehe Devolutiveffekt
  • den Übergang einer Verwaltungssache an eine übergeordnete Behörde, siehe Devolutionsantrag
