Continental Divide Trail

Der Continental Divide Trail ist ein 5000 km langer Wanderweg entlang der nordamerikanischen kontinentalen Wasserscheide von Mexiko bis nach Kanada. Er gehört zu den National Scenic Trails.

Der Wanderweg, der aus eigens dafür bestimmten Wegen und kleineren Straßen zusammengesetzt ist, ist zu etwa 70 % fertiggestellt (Stand: 2004). An den nicht fertiggestellten Teilen muss man sich seinen eigenen Weg durch das Gelände suchen oder auf Fahrstraßen wandern.

Nur etwas mehr als 20 Leute gehen jedes Jahr den gesamten Weg und benötigen dafür etwa sechs Monate.
