Constable of the Tower

Der Konstabler des Tower (Englisch: Constable of the Tower) ist der Gouverneur des Tower of London.

Nach den Queen's Regulations for the Army wird das Amt einem Feldmarschall oder sich im Ruhestand befindlichen General auf fünf Jahre übertragen. Der erste Constable of the Tower war Geoffrey de Mandeville der im 11. Jahrhundert von Wilhelm dem Eroberer eingesetzt wurde. Die genaue Anzahl der Amtsinhaber wird auf bisher 158 geschätzt.

Am 31. Juli 2009 wird General Richard Dannatt das Amt von General Roger Wheeler übernehmen.
