Aaron Ciechanover

Aaron J. Ciechanover (hebräisch ‏אהרון צ'חנובר‎; * 1. Oktober 1947 in Haifa, Palästina) ist ein israelischer Biochemiker.

Er erhielt im Jahr 2004 zusammen mit Avram Hershko und Irwin Rose den Nobelpreis für Chemie für die Entdeckung des Ubiquitin-gesteuerten Proteinabbaus.

Ciechanover erhielt 1981 am Technion (Israel Institute of Technology) in Haifa seinen Doktortitel. Derzeit ist er Professor für Biochemie und Direktor des Rappaport Family Institute for Research in Medical Sciences am Technion.
