Marid

In der arabischen Mythologie werden Maride (arabisch ‏مارد‎, DMG Mārid) als Dschinn beschrieben, die in Gewässern Zuflucht finden. Sie sind die mächtigste Art von Dschinn, stolz und arrogant. Wie jeder Dschinn besitzen sie einen freien Willen, können jedoch dazu gezwungen werden, Aufgaben zu erfüllen. Sie können den Menschen Wünsche erfüllen, wobei jedoch meist ein Kampf, bestimmte Rituale oder viel Schmeichelei Voraussetzung dafür sind.
