Das Journal of Contemporary Religion ist eine dreimalig im Jahr erscheinende wissenschaftliche Zeitschrift aus dem Bereich der Religionswissenschaft. Verlegt wird das Journal bei Taylor & Francis, die Herausgeber sind: Elisabeth Arweck und Peter B. Clarke. Die Zeitschrift wird peer-reviewed und ist im OPAC gelistet (ISSN 1353-7903).

Der Schwerpunkt des Journal of Contemporary Religion fokussiert auf die soziologischen, anthropologischen, philosophischen und psychologischen Aspekte von neu aufkommenden Religionen und betrachtet diese weltweit.

Die Zeitschrift wurde 1985 als Religion Today von Peter B. Clarke am Zentrum für Neue Religionen am King’s College in London gegründet. Im Jahr 1995 änderte sie ihren Titel in Journal of Contemporary Religion und besteht mit diesem fort.
