In Time – Deine Zeit läuft ab ist ein US-amerikanischer Science-Fiction-Thriller mit Amanda Seyfried und Justin Timberlake in den Hauptrollen. Andrew Niccol schrieb das Drehbuch und führte Regie. Der Film startete in den Vereinigten Staaten am 28. Oktober 2011. Der Deutschlandstart wurde auf den 1. Dezember 2011 angesetzt.

Handlung

Der Film spielt in einer Zukunft, in der das Alterungsgen deaktiviert wurde und in der Menschen mit 25 aufhören zu altern. Um eine Überbevölkerung der Erde zu vermeiden, hat jede Person ab diesem Zeitpunkt genau ein Jahr Restlebenszeit, die durch einen Countdown auf ihrem Arm angezeigt wird. Sobald das Jahr vorüber und der Countdown auf Null ist, sterben sie. Zeit wurde zur neuen Währung, man verdient Zeit durch Arbeit, man bezahlt mit Zeit für seine täglichen Ausgaben. Die Reichen leben ewig, die Armen sterben früh.

Produktion

Das Budget der Produktion belief sich auf 40 Millionen US-Dollar.[2]

Gedreht wurde gänzlich digital. Dies macht In Time zum ersten digital gedrehten Film des Oscarnominierten Kameramanns Roger Deakins, der dieser Technik zuvor ablehnend gegenüberstand.[3][4] Gedreht wurde in Los Angeles[5].
