Frederick Vine

Frederick John Vine (* 17. Juni 1939) ist ein britischer Geologe und Geophysiker.

Vine war von 1974 bis 1998 Professor an der University of East Anglia. Bis 2008 gehörte er dieser Universität als Professor Emeritus an.

Er lieferte wesentliche Beiträge zur Theorie der Plattentektonik.

1981 wurde er mit dem Balzan-Preis und 1982 mit der Hughes-Medaille ausgezeichnet.
