Carl Hold

Carl Hold (* 10. September 1871 in Witten-Stockum; † 17. November 1946 in Essen) war ein deutscher Politiker und Industrieller.

Leben

Der Bergmannssohn Carl Hold beendete 1897 eine Ausbildung zum Steiger. Danach arbeitete er zwei Jahre auf der Essener Zeche Carolus Magnus, bevor er als Obersteiger zum 1898 von Hugo Stinnes und August Thyssen gegründeten Mülheimer Bergwerks-Verein ging. Seit 1900 war Carl Hold Betriebsführer der Stinnes-Zechen Victoria Mathias und Mathias Stinnes. Unter anderem führte Hold die Kohlenstaubfeuerung ein.

Schnell arbeitete er sich in die Verwaltung der Stinnes-Zechen hoch und wurde 1923 zum Generaldirektor. Ebenfalls führte er Tätigkeiten im Vorstand der RWE AG aus. Als Vertreter der Fachgruppe Bergbau im Reichsverband der Deutschen Industrie war Hold von 1920 bis 1929 Mitglied des Rheinischen Provinziallandtages. Ebenfalls war er zwischen 1915 und 1929 Bürgermeister der Bürgermeisterei Karnap.
