Johan Eliasch

Johan Eliasch (* Februar 1962, in Stockholm) ist ein britischer Geschäftsmann. Er ist seit 1995 Chairman und CEO des Sportartikel-Herstellers Head.

Leben und Wirken

Eliasch ist ein Unterstützer der Ökologiebewegung. Er unterstützt eine konservative Grüne politische Richtung und ist Berater des englischen Politikers William Hague. 2007 wurde er von Gordon Brown zum Special Representative on Deforestation and Clean Energy ernannt. Eliasch ist ein Gründer und Co-Chairman der Cool Earth (en.wiki) einer britischer Nichtregierungsorganisation. Er lebt in London.

2006 erwarb Eliasch 1,600 km² Land im amazonischen Regenwald von dem in Konkurs gegangenen Holzeinschlag Unternehmen Gethall. Das Land soll 8 Millionen Pfund gekostet haben. Eliasch gab an ökologische Motive zu haben. Er lud Wissenschaftler ein, um sein Land zu erforschen und nach unbekannten Arten zu suchen.
