Douglas Richard „Doug“ Flutie (* 23. Oktober 1962 in Manchester, Maryland) ist ein US-amerikanischer ehemaliger American-Football-Spieler auf der Position des Quarterbacks.

Flutie spielte von 1980 bis 1984 Football für das Boston College und erlangte am 23. November 1984 bundesweite Aufmerksamkeit durch einen 48-Yards-Pass, der von Gerard Phelan in der Endzone gefangen wurde und die Eagles quasi in letzter Sekunde den 47-45 Sieg gegen die Miami Hurricanes einbrachte.[1] In seinem letzten Jahr bei den Eagles wurde Flutie mit der Heisman Trophy als bester College-Spieler 1984 ausgezeichnet.

Danach schlossen sich Zeiten in der USFL und der NFL an, bevor Flutie in die CFL wechselte. Dort gewann er dreimal den Grey Cup (1992, 1996, 1997) und wurde insgesamt sechsmal (1991−1994, 1996 und 1997) zum CFL's Most Outstanding Player gewählt.

Nach seiner Rückkehr in die NFL im Jahr 1998 spielte Flutie noch bis 2005 in dieser Liga.
