Bungay ist eine britische Kleinstadt in Suffolk, East Anglia (Ostanglien), England.

Sie liegt im nördlichen Suffolk, dem District Waveney am gleichnamigen Fluss, auf dem Gebiet des Broads Nationalpark, etwa 7 km westlich von Beccles, ca. 25 km westlich der ostenglischen Nordseeküste bei Lowestoft und 25 km südlich von Norwich, dem Verwaltungssitz von Norfolk.

Zu römischer Zeit war die Stadt aufgrund ihrer Lage an einem Fluss in sumpfigem Gebiet Ort einer militärischen Festung. In der Stadt finden sich auch Gräber aus frühester angelsächsischer Zeit (6.-7. Jh.). Im Mittelalter entstand die normannische Festung Bungay Castle und ein Benediktinerpriorat.

Die Einwohnerzahl liegt heute bei knapp 5000 (4895 laut dem UK Census von 2001).

Der Sänger Charlie Winston Baxter (* 1978 in Cornwall) wuchs hier auf.
