Callow

Simon Callow (* 13. Juni 1949 in London, Großbritannien) ist ein britischer Schauspieler.

Leben und Werk

Callow studierte an der Queen's University in Belfast. Er debütierte als Schauspieler im Film Amadeus (1984). Im Film Vier Hochzeiten und ein Todesfall spielte er neben Hugh Grant, für diese Rolle wurde er für den Filmpreis BAFTA Award nominiert. Er trat ebenfalls in der britischen Fernsehserie Chance in a Million auf. 1991 drehte er seinen bisher einzigen Film als Regisseur: Die Ballade vom traurigen Cafe nahm am Wettbewerb der Berlinale 1991 teil.

Im Jahr 1999 wurde Callow mit dem Order of the British Empire ausgezeichnet.
