Bush Pioneer

Bush Pioneers (deutsch in etwa „Bush-Pioniere“) sind Personen, die für die Präsidentschaftskandidatur von George W. Bush (im Jahr 2000 und 2004) mindestens 100.000,- USD gesammelt haben. Bei der Präsidentschaftswahlen 2000 wurde 241 Personen der Titel „Bush Pioneer“ verliehen. Entworfen wurde das System von Bushs Wahlkampfberater Karl Rove.

Für die Präsidentschaftswahlen 2004 wurden zwei neue Kategorien erfunden; der „Bush Ranger“, für Personen, die 200.000,- USD oder mehr gesammelt haben, und der „Super Ranger“ bei 300.000,- USD oder mehr. Diese neuen Titel wurden nach der Neuordnung der Parteienfinanzierung von 2002 (McCain-Feingold-Gesetz) eingeführt. Da es nun aufgrund dieser Neuordnung Einzelperson nicht länger erlaubt war, Summen in dieser Höhe zur Verfügung zu stellen, wurden Spenden, bis zu einer maximalen Höhe von 2.000,- USD pro Person gesammelt, gebündelt und gespendet. Bei der Wahl im Jahr 2004 waren es 327 „Pioneers“ und 221 „Ranger“.
