Brooklyn Heights ist ein Stadtteil des New Yorker Stadtbezirks Brooklyn, direkt gegenüber der Südspitze Manhattans.

An der nahe gelegenen Cadman Plaza ist das Zentrum des öffentlichen Lebens von Brooklyn mit der Borough Hall, dem US-Courthouse, dem Supreme Court des States New York. Das Viertel spielte im Amerikanischen Unabhängigkeitskrieg eine große Rolle, da hier das Hauptquartier von General Washington während der Schlacht um Long Island war.

Hier sind auch noch Gebäude aus den 20er Jahren des 19. Jahrhunderts erhalten geblieben. In den historischen Reihenhäusern wohnten bedeutende Schriftsteller wie W. H. Auden, Truman Capote, Norman Mailer oder Arthur Miller. Auch Bob Dylan lebte einige Zeit in einem Basement in der Montague Street. Die Gegend wurde 1965 zum ersten „Historic District“ von New York City ernannt. Damit wurde der Bau einer Schnellstraße durch das Viertel verhindert, die nun etwas unterhalb der berühmten Uferpromenade vorbeiführt.
