Bokmal

Bokmål ist eine der offiziellen Standardvarianten des Norwegischen. Es bedeutet „Buchsprache“ und ist wegen der gemeinsamen kulturellen Geschichte Dänemark-Norwegens sowohl vom Dänischen als auch von den unterschiedlichen Mundarten beeinflusst.

Das Bokmål ist die offizielle Variante des heutigen Norwegisch, die von den meisten Norwegern (die Schätzungen schwanken zwischen 85 und 90 Prozent) geschrieben wird. Die andere Variante ist das Nynorsk (etwa Neu-Norwegisch).

Bokmål ist durch staatliche Reformen des in Norwegen früher benutzten Dänischen entstanden.
