World Radio Network

World Radio Network (WRN) ist ein privates Unternehmen mit Sitz in London, das die Verbreitung von Hörfunk- und Fernsehprogrammen für Sendeanstalten aus der ganzen Welt anbietet.

Dazu nutzt WRN sprachbezogene Plattformen, auf denen meist die Auslandssender verschiedener Nationen ihre Programme darbieten. Die Verbreitung geschieht dabei überwiegend über Satellit und die Einspeisung in Kabelnetze, aber auch über lokale UKW- und MW-Sender. Es gibt auch einen Livestream im Internet.

Internationale öffentlich-rechtliche Radiosender, welche die von WRN angebotenen Plattformen nutzen sind unter anderen Radio Canada International, National Public Radio, Radio Netherlands, Deutsche Welle, Pacifica Radio, Radio Australia, Polskie Radio, Radio Prag, Radio Sweden, Radio Vatikan, Radio Guangdong, Radio New Zealand und United Nations Radio.

WRN Deutsch verbreitet die deutschsprachigen Sendungen der Anbieter Radio Schweden, Israel Radio, Radio Rumänien International, KBS World Radio (Südkorea), Radio Vatikan, Radio Polen, Radio Slowakei International, Radio HCJB ("Die Stimme der Anden"), Die Stimme Russlands und Radio Prag und ist über die Satelliten SES Astra 19,2 ° Ost, Eutelsat Hot Bird 13° Ost und AfriStar zu empfangen. Bis September 2010 war es in Berlin auch terrestrisch auf UKW 97,2 MHz zu empfangen.[1] Darüber hinaus nutzt WRN kleinere Zeitfenster bei anderen Radiostationen.
