Das Komitee für das Erbe der Welt (englisch World Heritage Committee, französisch Comité du patrimoine mondial) ist ein Gremium der UNESCO mit Sitz in Paris. Es verwaltet

Eine Konvention zum Schutz des Kulturerbes unter Wasser wurde 2001 vom Komitee für das Erbe der Welt verabschiedet, aber noch nicht von einer ausreichenden Anzahl Staaten ratifiziert (Stand: 2007).

Das Komitee trifft sich jährlich an wechselnden Orten. Es besteht aus Vertretern von 21 der Staaten, die der Welterbekonvention beigetreten sind. Sie werden von der Generalversammlung für jeweils 6 Jahre gewählt. In seiner ersten Sitzung hat das Welterbe-Komitee die Verfahrensregeln verabschiedet.
