Die World Elephant Polo Association (WEPA) ist ein Verband des Elefantenpolos.
Geschichte
Die WEPA wurde 1982 auf der Tiger Tops Jungle Lodge im Chitwan National Park im Süden von Nepal gegründet. Die ersten Spiele wurden auf einem wiesenartigen Flugplatz in Meghauly gespielt.
WEPA-Regeln
- 1.: Das Spiel wird pro Team mit vier Spielern gespielt. Das Spielfeld, auf dem sie spielen, ist 120 Meter auf 70 Meter groß. Der Elefantenpoloball hat dieselbe Größe wie ein normaler Poloball.
- 2.: Es gibt 2 zehnminütige Spiele, die in einem Abstand von 15 Minuten gespielt werden. Der Schiedsrichter beginnt und beendet das Spiel.

- 4.: Die Elefanten und die Seiten des Spielfeldes werden nach der Halbzeit gewechselt.

Elefanten
Die Elefanten, die bei den WEPA Championships spielen, gehören zur Hälfte zu den nepalesischen Nationalparks, der Rest zur Tiger Tops Jungle Lodge. Normalerweise spielen jedes Jahr 16 Elefanten bei den Championships mit.
